HELLAVISION WEB 5000.0 INTRO ONLINE PREMIERE
Now available for viewing online: The intro for Hellavision Television’s “Web 5000.0” animation anthology, a collaboration featuring visuals by animator Sishir Bommakanti, VO by voice artist Sudarsna Mukund, and original music, sound design and mix by yours truly! See and hear it below:
Thanks so much to Bommakanti and the Hellavision crew for the chance to be a part of the intro to this anthology film. It was a lot of fun tracking Mukund’s voiceover at Cool Cat Audio and then providing a full musical score, sound design, and final mix for our piece, introducing a community animation project that explores “the maximal speculative future of the internet”. The collection on the whole— curated by Bommakanti— is hilarious, innovative, insightful, bewildering, terrifying, and plenty more besides. Check out all the shorts on the Hellavision site.
Sishir was kind enough to invite Sudarsna and myself up front to introduce us to the audience before the anthology’s theatrical premiere at The Main Cinema in Minneapolis. I was pretty into his intermission countdown animation, featured below:
Since its theatrical premiere, the anthology has toured the world to screen in Los Angeles, Brooklyn, Atlanta, Toronto, London, and Wellington, NZ. As of this writing it’s also surfaced in the Twin Cities at Minnesota Electronic Theater and Scream It Offscreen (where, in the latter instance, I’m pleased to report it was not in fact screamed at).
