COMRADE COMRADE’S “SADLY TEMPORARY” RELEASED
Congratulations to Comrade Comrade on the release of “Sadly Temporary”, a debut collection I’ve had the honor of producing, mixing and mastering at Cool Cat Audio!
Singer-songwriter and bandleader Matt Gladue puts it best: “Drawing on punk and post-punk influences, Comrade Comrade seeks to say something about how we live, love, and fight alongside one another in a moment when American Democracy is at its most vulnerable.” But as much as I respect Matt for his integrity, I also appreciate that he’s not afraid to leaven the proceedings by naming the record after a line from “The Muppet Movie”...
It’s been a pleasure helping Matt bring his vision to life by tracking performances at my studio, mixing instrumentation recorded at other facilities, and assimilating overdubs recorded remotely by our collaborators. In addition to Matt’s guitar and vocals, we were fortunate for the assistance of Atom Robinson’s engineering and facility on the bass guitar; drumming by Keely Lane and Sean Powell-Burns; vocals and violin by Anna Meek; and Aaron Langton swooping in toward the end to set us up with bass, keys, and a downright incendiary guitar solo. I contributed some acoustic guitar, backing vocals, drums, piano, melodica, a VST synth or two, a bit of sound montage, and percussion at various points.
I thank everyone involved for the opportunity to help make this project happen. May fortune smile upon its release!
