ONLINE CLASS VISIT W/ JOHN KANNENBERG
Wonderful online visit from Dr. John Kannenberg, who beamed in direct from London to give a guided tour of the sonic marvel that is The Museum of Portable Sound to both myself and students in the Intro to Sound class I’ve been teaching at Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Kannenberg is the Museum’s founder and chief curator, and we were pleased to add ten more souls to his extensive visitor list.
This presentation premiered some of the latest additions to the museum's Permanent Collection of Sounds, like its ongoing crowdsourced audio collection Alphabets And The Sonic Building Blocks Of Language. A Q&A provided plenty of exchange and insight about this world of sonic exploration, which somehow fits inside a single iPhone.
